At the center of every album is a musical thesis. For Pete Yorn’s “Day I Forgot” there is an apparent edge teetering between solid rock and folksy roots. Yorn walks the edge beautifully while constructing songs with strong central characters. Most of these people are friends and the album plays out as a dedication to them. Here, we find our connection to the content. Here, we are provided an opportunity to search our own lives for the people that matter most. After the hunt, I hope we all take some time to tell them how much they mean to us. This album of pure music would be the perfect background for such a conversation.
Be good to each other,
