War films are often too romantic. "Fury" is far from a love story. In fact, this film may be one of the purest depictions of combat I've seen in a theatre. It focuses on characters you have a hard time liking, but you must proceed through the movie with the thought that war made them this way in the back of your mind. The hellaciousness of war plays out in every scene. As the movie draws toward a "300" style climax, you fall in love with the characters. Their bravery, valor and togetherness shines. War films should pay respect to those who lived these lives. "Fury," in the same breath of "Saving Private Ryan" accomplished just that.
