Cocktail: Alaska
Ingredients: 2 ounces of Gin, 1 ounce of yellow Chartreuse, 2 dashes of orange bitters
Directions: Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass filled with ice and stir until chilled, about 30 seconds. Strain into a chilled coupe.
Bartender Reaction: This is a gin-forward cocktail. If gin doesn’t rank as your favorite spirit, this drink might not be for you. While the yellow Chartreuse and orange bitters do mask the flavor of juniper berries somewhat, there is no hiding the base of this drink. For me, an avid lover of gin, this is a perfect cocktail. I can imagine this mixture beginning a perfect evening in a blackened jazz club before the main act starts owning the stage.
Be good to each other,
Nathan
