I once read "War and Peace." Somewhere around page 1,000 of 1,400+, I thought to myself, damn this is a long war. While watching "Rogue One," I was struck with the same thought. We are now 8 films into a battle stretching across the galaxy and spanning decades of cinema. This is to say nothing of the countless graphic novels, books, comics, video games, and cartoons based on the same subject. After all that time, I think I am done. Now, this isn't the fault of this movie. It told an important story in the grand saga about those little acts of courage that make the war winnable, but in the end, I was done. I know how this thing ends. With two more films in the works, including one to be released later this year, I don't know what turn the story could take to lure me back. I know this, though, I'll be there because it is hard to escape a cultural phenomenon.
Be good to each other,
