If you have ever doubted faith, God, and a master plan, then "Silence" is for you. If your faith has never wavered, God has been ever present, and you believe you are destined for the after-life, then this movie is for you. As someone who has long doubted, I was nervous about seeing this film. I had a working knowledge of the Jesuits, but I didn't know much about their time spent in Japan. As the nearly three-hour film played out before me, I was struck by the lengths believers will go to share their faith. With fear of death hanging over their heads, these priests plowed forward. As the film plays out, some pay the ultimate price, but it leaves you with a question that sits in the pit of your stomach. How far would you go for something you believe to be true?
Be good to each other,
