Autism is one of those words you can't fully comprehend until you have a child, work with someone, or befriend a person with it. After watching "Life, Animated," I feel as if I have a better grasp on the disorder. I also walked away with a new appreciation for film. As children, my brothers and I devoured Disney movies. The star of this film used those films to make sense of the world, communicate his emotions, and process social interactions. Ultimately, they gave him a voice in a world filled with too much stimulation. To watch him come out of his shell, was a pure joy. Finally, I have an understanding and further affirmation for my love of movies.
Be good to each other,
