I believe "The Boss" was supposed to be a comedy. Within the first 5 minutes of the movie, I knew this one was going to be a struggle for me. Which was disappointing, because I normally love Melissa McCarthy, but as the next hour and half progressed I became more and more disillusioned. At times, the jokes felt forced, like trying to push a watermelon through a keyhole forced. At other times, you feel as if McCarthy might save the film with one of her patented disconnected woman routines, but then the supporting cast around her drops the ball. When the dust settled, I left the theatre having laughed a total of three times; which made me feel less like the boss and more like the guy who parks his car.
Be good to each other,
