I know what you're thinking, "really... another boxing movie?" I understand this line of thinking. For me, two of the greatest boxing movies ever have been made in the last twenty years, "Cinderella Man" and "Million Dollar Baby." Most boxing movies to come out after these two films have failed to live up to the hype. The exceptions to this sentiment are "The Fighter" and "Bleed for This." In "Bleed for This," Miles Teller continues to expand upon his acting chops with the comeback tale to conquer all comeback tales. The story of the boxer Vinny Pazienza was unknown to me before walking into the theater, because of this everything was brand new. There were times you just want him to quit and find another passion. There are others where you just want him to beat all the odds. This is thanks to Teller's performance. Despite being formulaic in certain areas, the film still managed to surprise and inspire me. With the current state of Hollywood, we should be grateful for such treatment.
Be good to each other,
