If you have some unresolved trauma in your life, I would stay away from “Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck.” It is a powerful look into the life of someone who had physical/mental illness, struggled with substance abuse and suicidal ideation. All of which is an insight few of us understand. If you choose to see it, you will see a rare glimpse into the life of one of rock’s most iconic stars. The power of the film lies in the storytelling. Created using home movies, animation, interviews and Kurt’s own words, it is one of the most raw and real documentaries I have ever seen. The film will stick with you days and if you are anything like me you’ll find yourself going back through your Nirvana catalog and analyzing every lyric. As I left the theatre with the visceral experience behind me, I couldn’t help but think where Kurt would be today if he had gotten the help he so desperately needed. I think that same thought for all of those we lost too early in the same manner.
Thanks for entering my world,
