“Ted 2” was filled with enough heart and toilet humor to satisfy this 31 year old man-child. At the core of the story, is Ted’s journey to prove he is a person and not property. This is where the heart of the movie shines. It recalls moments in our history when African Americans were seen in the same light. The toilet humor comes from Ted and John’s journey to find a suitable sperm donor. See, Ted needs to prove his personhood, so he and his wife can either adopt or give birth to a child. The scenes outside of the courtroom were crude, rude, and sophomoric. If it wasn’t for those moments of the heart, I would have walked out of the theatre with a completely different review. These serious questions anchor this comedy and allow you to laugh and soak in the idea of what makes a person, a person.
