Journal: March 2014
Saying goodbye is never easy, but it is an essential part of life. Saying goodbye to wonderful friends is downright impossible. JR and Tim this is an attempt to say what I could never vocalize.
It is hard to quantify what you have meant to my life. Your generosity has been overwhelming. Your words of advise were always appreciated. Your friendship kept me in Seattle. For that, I will be eternally grateful.
I also want to thank you for being a positive gay couple. I am convinced if more people were to cross relationships such as yours we would no longer mired in a debate over marriage equality. I want to use your example to be my most true self. I am happier now than I have been in a long time. That credit is attributed to you and your encouragement.
As you begin this new chapter in your life, I encourage you to move forward with courage. Life is a challenge and down right daunting task. Your future will be filled with the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. As you face these peaks and valleys, be patient with each other. Lean in and support when necessary. Above all else, love unconditionally, assume the best of intentions and live a life free of regret.
Finally, thank you. Your friendship has meant the world to me. As you close this chapter in your life, realize you are not closing the door on friendships made in Seattle. You're just providing them opportunity to travel.
Thanks for entering my world,
-Nathan
