On 7/21/18, I saw David Ramirez play the Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles, CA.

I am not done preaching about David Ramirez. I cannot think of another artist who possesses more songwriting talent. No artist writes better songs about the challenge of modern relationships and the lonely life of an independent artist on the road. I find it criminal and shameful that a wider audience does not know his name and songwriting power. So, I will keep writing and sharing all in an attempt to do my part.

This show in Los Angeles was a special one for me for several reasons. This show was being recorded live for a bootleg recording, and nothing really compares to a live album where you were in the audience. It becomes a moment frozen in time you can hold on to forever. This performance also afforded me an opportunity to introduce his music to a friend of mine visiting from Oklahoma. Finally, after four or five shows, I met David after the show. I will forever relish the moment I got to shake his hand. I told him how much I appreciated his work and willed him to keep pushing forward. This is one of those shows I will never forget.

As far as my ideal setlist is concerned, the songs above are a collection of David Ramirez songs I have returned to most often. You will not find a song from every album, nor are all my favorite songs listed. Instead, these are 15 songs that keep me coming back for more. As always, I would love to hear from you. What is your ideal setlist?

Be good to each other,

Nathan
