Cinephile No. 586 "Claire in Motion"
I don't know about you, but I find movies with unclear endings frustrating. Now, I realize they are supposed to be a reflection of the real world. There, not everything is wrapped up in nice and neat little packages. Things are often left unknown or are clear as mud. This doesn't make it any less challenging to handle. "Claire in Motion" spends almost two hours looking for a character we only know from a brief encounter. As the film progresses, you spend every minute paying close attention and gathering details for what you assume will guide you to some sort of satisfaction in the ending. Rather, you are left with just as many questions when the first frame rolled. For me, this is disappointing and a gimmick I don't appreciate.
Be good to each other,
