Cinephile No. 609 "The Girl on the Train"
I think a better title for this movie would have been "Wealthy White People Problems." I say this in jest and I fully realize it might still some spotlight from a story line that keeps you guessing and a performance from Emily Blunt people will be talking about for some time to come. Seriously, she portrays one of the most realistic alcoholics I have ever seen on screen. With that said, this movie is basically about the privilege of being in love, sad, drunk, and nosy. Case in point, Blunt's character spends a year using her alimony money to rent a room from her friend, commute to a job she no longer has in Manhattan, and drink. I don't know about you, but I would starve! So, should you see this movie? I would unless you read the book. Then skip it, because lord knows you people will never be satisfied.
Be good to each other,
