Cinephile No. 530 “No Escape”
What "No Escape" lacked in a story, it more than made up for in the constant push of fight or flight. Seriously, if you are looking for an in-depth geopolitical thriller, this movie is not for you. The reasons behind the constant push are barely mentioned nor are we totally sure what country the unrest is taking place, but the push is what makes this movie. It is a film that is never still. The director only allows a few opportunities for you to catch your breath. Caught? Good, because they are off again. Normally, this isn’t my kind of movie, but the pace was refreshing and there was something endearing about Owen Wilson’s character and his love for his family. So, give this one a chance. I think it might surprise you.
Thanks for entering my world,
