Cinephile No. 491 “71”
“71” is an intense movie focused on a small part of the violence between Catholics and Protestants in Ireland. It reminded me to be patient while Muslims work through the things that divide them. As our hero ran for his life, I was also reminded how complicated man makes religion. As he dodged in and out of alleys and eventually into the arms of good Samaritans, I was filled with joy at the thought that some people will always believe the basic message of religion; love. As the ending rises to a breaking point, the thought of man always being a non-believer during the good times flashed through my mind. And finally, as the credits rolled, I remembered that the past always has a way of repeating itself.
Thanks for entering my world,
