Musical Thesis: Weezer "Everything Will Be Alright in the End"
At the center of every album is a musical thesis. Weezer's "Everything Will Be Alright in the End" is focused on a reintroduction. On rare occasions, have I heard a band apologize for moving away from their original sound, but Weezer does that here. More than that, at times the album can feel like an apology letter to their supporters. Now, I've called myself a fan since the "Green" album. I've always appreciated this band's ability to experiment with their pop/rock sound. I never felt offended when they tried to do something different, but this album is about getting back to the basics of what made them famous in the 90's. The difference here is the sound is more mature and so is the subject matter; which is a great move for this band. No apology necessary.
Thanks for entering my world,
